Prospective Masters students
You can apply to do a one-year masters project based in the group through the Department of Geography’s MPhil in Geography programme. Please get in contact to discuss your ideas.

Prospective PhD students
If you are interested in undertaking PhD research in the group there is a lot of information about the process on the Department of Geography website.
Funding is available through the Cambridge Trusts and GATES programmes, as well as structured PhD programmes at the University of Cambridge including the Cambridge NERC CREATES DLA, the CHIA PhD in Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence and the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sensor Technologies and Applications in an Uncertain World that we participate in. Other funding sources are available, for example national scholarship schemes and the Commonwealth PhD Scholarships; many of these can be found on the Cambridge Trusts pages.
Funding deadlines tend to be early in the academic year, between September and December. Please get in contact to discuss your application before submission.
Postdoctoral Opportunities
When funded postdoctoral positions are available these are advertised on the University’s jobs site.
We welcome enquiries from prospective postdoctoral fellows whose interests overlap with our own. We can help you to prepare funding applications; please get in contact as early as possible before the deadline. Funding for postdoctoral work can be obtained from a wide variety of sources, including:

Visitors
If you would like to undertake a visit in the group, then the Department of Geography has schemes for visiting PhD students and visiting scholars. Please get in contact before submitting an application.
Consulting
Members of the group undertake consulting on topics related to our research interests, including environmental science, data and data science, and policy. Please contact Emily to discuss your ideas.
